Tomato plants enjoy free-draining soil loaded with plenty of organic matter. Grow indoors next to some basil and chillies for a real cooking experience. No staking, stringing or pruning required. Whilst perfectly fine to start in smaller pots if space is limited, we feel this is such a low maintenance easy plant to grow why complicate with a transplant? There is a unique sense of satisfaction growing produce right there in the kitchen, which is why we feel this variety is a must-have. We start our Tiny Tim seeds in the ceramic pot that it will spend it’s life in, out in the kitchen and under LED lights. After germination, place on a sunny windowsill, or as we recommend, under LED lights to grow on and develop. Sow your Tiny Tim seeds shallowly and aim to keep them at around 18 degrees. They require heat, light and well-drained, evenly moist soil and should be grown under glass for best results. Tomatoes belong to the same family as aubergines and peppers and should be grown in much the same way. This superb and compact bush also sits happily in the greenhouse borders with the smaller peppers and aubergines, where it will reach 18 inches (46cms). Growing as a bush type, it is the perfect zero maintenance variety, requiring no pruning and well suited to pot cultivation on the patio, conservatory or kitchen planter under lights where it will reach 10-12 inches (25-30cm). A must-have dwarf bush variety, Tiny Tim produces an abundance of small, bright red cherries very, very early. ![]()
